He revealed the positive update along with a photo of Campello holding their daughter Bella in her arms as she lay on a hospital bed with her eyes closed.
The footballer said: “Alice has left intensive care and is in a room doing better and recovering with Bella.
I’m still coming to terms with what happened. Thank you Alice for teaching me a lesson again. You are undoubtedly a fighter and an example to me.
These were definitely the worst days of my life but I’m lucky to have you. You are the best thing that ever happened to me and my life without you would have no meaning.
