EA Sports is set to release its first golf video game since Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (2015).
On January 19, EA Sports announced that the game will be released on March 24, 2023 on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X | S and PC via the EA App, Steam and Epic Games Store.
Pre-orders are now live for the EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, the exclusive home to all four majors in men’s golf – The Masters Championship, PGA Championship™, US Open™ and The Open.
Perhaps the most exciting part of all is the fact that Augusta National will make a triumphant return to the world of video games. The course will be in a video game for the first time since 2011 and will be playable in a game mode called “Road to the Masters” which features challenges, tournaments and gear associated with the Masters.

The game also shows a new and realistic way to make golf realistic in a video game called “Pure Strike”. Pure Strike aims to provide golf enthusiasts with all the tools they need to realistically attack every hole on every course in the same way the professionals do. The game will also feature ShotLink® powered by CDW and TrackMan,
Pure Strike aims to help ensure that every professional golfer in the game has a unique swing and attributes that are accurately reflected in the game.
In addition to being the exclusive home to all four of the men’s majors, the EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is packed with the experiences and content players demand in golf, including:
World famous courses – Take part in 30 courses, including some of the most famous in the world such as Augusta National Golf Club, Pebble Beach Golf Course, Southern Hills Country Club, Old Course at St. Andrews Links and Country Club, and Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Ocean Course, Torrey Pines, Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France, East Lake Golf Club, TPC Southwind, Los Angeles Country Club, Wilmington Country Club, and more. The EA SPORTS PGA TOUR will also feature previous host major tournaments in 2021 and 2022 as well as new major tournaments for 2023 that will be launched post-launch.
Your career, your way – EA SPORTS PGA TOUR provides players with an RPG-like progression system on the road to the Masters. As their golf improves, the closer they get to becoming a major champion. Players will be able to create and customize a golfer, develop their skills and master each course to attack each hole like a pro. With 20 types of shots available as players progress through the game, they can enhance their driving, approaching, short play or shooting skills, depending on their style. Players will be able to compete to become a major champion, take part in top PGA TOUR events in the season-long chase for the FedExCup Championship, as well as conquer top amateur tournaments including the Augusta National Amateur, US Amateur, and other elite international amateur events.
THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP AND FedExCup Playoff – The PLAYERS Championship and all three FedExCup Playoffs events will be in-game, and players can earn in-game FedExCup Points in Career Mode for the chance to compete in FedExCup Playoffs. As part of Career Mode, the top golfers at the end of the year will be given the chance to win the FedExCup.
Women’s Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the Amundi Evian Championship – In partnership with the LPGA, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR allows fans to compete in the Amundi Evian Championship, one of the LPGA Tour’s five major tournaments, and have the opportunity to play as multiple athletes as well as create a women’s golfer in the reformed tournament. Player creation feature. Players will also be able to participate in a series of LPGA Challenges and other events. Iona Steffen will join EA’s commentary team as their first in-game tournament commentator, bringing her expert insights from playing professionally and working on golf broadcasts.
Real life cycle visuals – EA SPORTS PGA TOUR will also deliver the most realistic visuals of any golf game using EA’s Frostbite™ engine. Using state-of-the-art equipment such as drone technology, custom-flying LiDAR helicopters and more to develop terrain maps, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR visualizes courses exactly as they appear in real life. Photogrammetry and scanners have also been applied to create accurate renderings of clubhouses, famous plants, bridges, tee marks, rock formations, and other course elements that offer players life-like visual experiences on their favorite courses.
Shot Link® – Using ShotLink® powered by CDW, the PGA TOUR’s real-time scoring system since 2001, golfers will be authentically replicated with accurate player ratings and realistic in-game amplified skills and events.
Accumulate data – Insights implemented from TrackMan, the world leader in 3D ball flight measurement and swing analysis, are crucial to authentic play using a myriad of stats including club setting, flight path, landing position, and more.
